چکیده

Currently, a lot of researcher’s attention is devoted to the problem microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC), since it causes huge damages economy, initiating destruction oil and gas pipelines other underground constructions. To protect industrial materials from MIC effects an organic chemical inhibitors are massively used. However, their use associated with toxicity, dangerous for environment that caused need development alternative methods repression. At review, data about different types inhibitors-biocides usage has provided. The features given mechanisms protective action considered. screening results eco-friendly managing effect by sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) highlighted. Methods joint application enhancers, such as chelators, biosurfactants, which contribute reducing concentration inhibitors, discussed. possibility disruption quorum sensing interaction in bacterial community prevent biofilm formation information natural plant extracts, food waste, well by-products agro-industrial production combat biological control (to MIC) great importance creating best approaches SRB. analysis literature indicates find alternatives environmentally friendly solutions.

Corrosion of iron by sulfate-reducing bacteria: new views of an old problem.

About a century ago, researchers first recognized a connection between the activity of environmental microorganisms and cases of anaerobic iron corrosion. Since then, such microbially influenced corrosion (MIC) has gained prominence and its technical and economic implications are now widely recognized. Under anoxic conditions (e.g., in oil and gas pipelines), sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) are...

Influence of Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria on the Corrosion Residual Strength of an AZ91D Magnesium Alloy

In this paper, the corrosion residual strength of the AZ91D magnesium alloy in the presence of sulfate-reducing bacteria is studied. In the experiments, the chemical composition of corrosion film was analyzed by a scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. In addition, a series of instruments, such as scanning electronic microscope, pH-meter and an AG-10TA materials...

Marine sulfate-reducing bacteria cause serious corrosion of iron under electroconductive biogenic mineral crust

Iron (Fe(0) ) corrosion in anoxic environments (e.g. inside pipelines), a process entailing considerable economic costs, is largely influenced by microorganisms, in particular sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB). The process is characterized by formation of black crusts and metal pitting. The mechanism is usually explained by the corrosiveness of formed H(2) S, and scavenge of 'cathodic' H(2) from...

Fractionation of Hydrogen Isotopes by Sulfate- and Nitrate-Reducing Bacteria

Hydrogen atoms from water and food are incorporated into biomass during cellular metabolism and biosynthesis, fractionating the isotopes of hydrogen-protium and deuterium-that are recorded in biomolecules. While these fractionations are often relatively constant in plants, large variations in the magnitude of fractionation are observed for many heterotrophic microbes utilizing different central...
